Since 2014, the Russian aggression has cost Ukraine 19.9% of its pre-conflict GDP annually, with total losses of $280B in unproduced GDP in 2014-2020, reported the Center for Economic and Business Research (CEBR).
The losses in the Donbas, where the conflict continues, total up to $102B, or $14.6B annually. In addition, it is specified that the annexation of Crimea in 2014 led to the direct loss of $8.3 annually,
Furthermore, the experts from the CEBR explain that the conflict has led to a decline in investor confidence in Ukraine’s economy, which led to a loss of $72B in investment, or $10.3B annually.
