Public sector bodies
We advise a number of UK government departments and independent government bodies. Recent projects include the Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and Arts Council England.
Retail and wholesale
We advise many of the UK’s top retailers including main supermarket chains.
Transport, logistics and tourism
The largest industry groups and stakeholders in the UK rail industry are clients, as are three of the major travel companies in the UK. We also advise the largest travel association as well as two of the largest providers of postal and logistics services in the UK.
Consumer and trade bodies
We advise some of the most high profile consumer and trade bodies in the UK. A prominent example is our work on minimum alcohol pricing for the Wine and Spirit Trade Association (WSTA).
Information and communications technology
Seven of the main communications companies in the UK (including in mobile, internet, TV and fixed-line) are clients. We also advise four major IT vendors – for SAS we reported on the economic impact of harnessing the value of big data and, for EMC2, we reported on the economic benefits of cloud computing to business and the wider EMEA economy.
Industrial manufacturing, energy and minerals
A London-listed global miner is a major client and we also provide advice and analysis to a big continental carmaker as well as having produced public reports for British Gas in the energy sector.
Consumer goods manufacturing
Our client base includes some of the largest manufacturers of consumer goods, from alcohol to tobacco to breakfast cereals. A recent prominent example is our report on food poverty on behalf of Kellogg’s.
Legal and other professional services
We advise four of the UK’s top ten legal firms and two of the top six firms of accountants, as well as being long-standing economic advisers to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
Our clients include six of the major property development companies in the UK as well as the country’s biggest property portfolio.
Our clients include the world’s largest specialist insurance market, some of the UK’s largest high street banks, and a broad range of the UK’s consumer serving financial service and insurance companies.
Third sector organisations
We support a range of charities and providers of fundraising activities as well as supporting grant-funded bodies in areas such as sport and the arts.
