About
Our company

Explore more

For 25 years the Centre for Economics and Business Research (Cebr) has supplied independent economic forecasting and analysis to hundreds of private firms and public  organisations.

Our Team

Accurate
forecasts

Our predictions have a strong track record of forecasting accuracy at international, national and even company level, placing us consistently in the top handful of UK economics teams and winning us awards and headlines. We continue to find new customers despite on-off UK recession and weak trading conditions and our clients grow with us.

Supporting
strategy

Boards use our analysis to help make strategic, financial, commercial and resourcing decisions. We are employed by big international firms, banks, professional bodies and government departments to give them the foresight they need to make plans. We also work for charities, unions and small to medium sized businesses.

Influential
reports

Public organisations, FTSE firms and multi nationals use the innovation of our economic modeling and clarity of our report-writing to enable them to speak loudly and authoritatively to their stakeholders and the general public. We count internet follow-up articles in the hundreds of thousands when we put out major reports.

We care

A consultancy with a
tendency to get things right

Wide span of clients

Cebr founder Professor Douglas McWilliams was Chief Economic Adviser to the Confederation of British Industry and IBM. He wanted Cebr to be a powerful business tool for commerce and made sure the consultancy offered a full suite of macroeconomic and microeconomics services. Since then we have branched out and currently advise law firms, banks, accountancy and insurance firms, firms in construction, housing, rail, new technology, communications, recruitment, and two of the four major supermarkets. Our attention and analysis is directed both globally and locally.

Digestible economics

We run economic indicators such as the ASDA Income Tracker which are followed by the EU, Bank of England, major banks and the Treasury as well as another half dozen major indicators. Click here to see the others. All this is underpinned by strong academic foundations which, combined with practical experience, enables us to make academic strength economics digestible to business and Government.
