UK consumer confidence recorded its highest month-on-month increase in a year in January, according to a YouGov survey as respondents reported a rosier outlook for household finances. The YouGov/Centre for the Economics and Business Research confidence index rose to 108.2 in January, up from 107.1 in December. However, the January figure was still below the 109.8 reading this time last year. A score over 100 means more consumers are confident than those that are unconfident.
