Liverpool Echo – Cheapest places in Merseyside for petrol and diesel today

These are the cheapest places for fuel in Merseyside today.

There may be some good news regarding the price of fuel reducing in the coming months. Petrol prices could fall by as much as 8p per litre over the coming months, according to economic thinktank the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR).

CEBR economists believe that the price of crude oil — currently at $107 per barrel — will fall to below $90 per barrel by 2024. They also expect demand for the fossil fuel to fall, and the American government to lean on Middle Eastern nations to boost production, reports the Manchester Evening News.

It means there could be an extra 1.5 million barrels a day added to the production system, which will contribute to a fall in the cost for crude oil if the US State Department makes the move. A drop in the cost of production will come as a double-boost for motorists, after Rishi Sunak announced a 5p cut in fuel duty recently. FairFuel, a lobbying group, welcomed the news.

However, prices still remain high for drivers. PetrolPrices.com has a handy tool that allows drivers to find the cheapest fuel near them and the ECHO has rounded up the cheapest places to get petrol and diesel in and around Merseyside today on April 5.
