Our Chairman Douglas McWilliams and his wife Ianthe are on a month’s sabbatical driving around the US in their classic Aston Martin before exhibiting it at the classic car show in Pebble Beach in mid August.

 

Douglas says that the key things he is trying to find out about are why the US recovery seems more solid than in any other Western economy and how the US is responding to globalisation and the eventual loss of its status as the world’s largest economy.
The trip starts in Atlanta and goes up the East coast from Charleston to upstate New York, across to Chicago and then through Yellowstone to Portland Oregon before going south past San Francisco to the Monterey Peninsula.
