“Consumer confidence has fallen to its lowest level in a year because of “Brexit uncertainty” as the risk of leaving the European Union without a deal rises.

According to the latest monthly survey from YouGov and the Centre for Economics and Business Research, the consumer confidence index fell by 1.4 points in November, declining to 106.7 from 108.1 in October.

While any score over 100 means that more consumers are confident than gloomy about the state of their finances and the economy, it is only the third time since the EU referendum in 2016 that the index has been below 107. The index is also well below its level before the UK voted to leave the bloc.”
