Research by Cebr for Heathrow which calculated that an expansion at the airport could boost the UK economy by as much as £24,000 of GDP per family, was covered by the Daily Telegraph.

 

YouGov and Cebr’s Consumer and Business Confidence Indices, which saw confidence rise to pre-Brexit levels, was covered by the Financial Times, Sky NewsLe Figaro, Reuters France, Reuters, City AM, the GuardianNewsweek and the Daily Mail (x2). Scott Corfe, author of the report and Director of Macroeconomics was quoted discussing the findings in Bloomberg (x2).

 

Research by Cebr, London First and the Let Britain Fly campaign on the importance of air freight to UK exports was covered by City AM.

 

Cebr’s study with Killik & Co (Killik Private Education Index) about the affordability of private education was covered by the Daily Mirror.

 

A study by Vonage and Cebr which found that 52 per cent of British businesses are home-based, was covered by the Daily Telegraph and Forbes.

 

Research by Cebr and the Royal Academy of Engineering examining the impact of engineering on economic development at a global level found that Sweden tops the Index, which ranks countries by their engineering strength, while the UK is ranked 14th, above the US. The findings were covered by the Guardian and Forbes.

 

Cebr analysis for Digital Mums found that more than two thirds of stay-at-home mothers with young children would go back to work if flexible working was an option. The research was covered by ITV News, Huffington Post, City AM and Yorkshire Post.

 

Research by Cebr and Saga which found that people over 50 have increased spending on traveling by 23% over the past five years, while those under 50 have reduced their spending on tourism by 5% in the same period, was covered by the BBC. Speaking about the report, Managing Economist Nina Skero was interviewed by BBC national and regional radio, Jazz FM, LBC and Share Radio.

Findings from Cebr and Irwin Mitchell’s quarterly tracker UK Powerhouse, which places Milton Keynes as the fastest growing city for Q1 2016, was covered by BBC News.

 

Analysis in the News:

 

The ‘Flat White Economy’ by Cebr President Douglas McWilliams was referenced by City AM in relation to the movement of tech companies to Edinburgh and the North of England from the South East.

 

Cebr’s calculations that the London underground strikes cost the Capital’s GVA £10bn daily was covered by the Guardian.

 

Commenting on cuts to interest rates, Senior Economist Alasdair Cavalla was quoted by the Daily Mail.
